Ballet studio in Shinjuku, Tokyo for school-age children, teens, and adults
Bilingual (English/Japanese) ballet classes on Thursdays and Sundays / Pas de deux class on Fridays
Private ballet lessons in English
Dear friends,
Bilingual (English/Japanese) ballet classes on Thursdays and Sundays and a pas de deux class on Fridays are taught by Grigory Barinov, former Soloist of the National Ballet of Japan.
The ballet class level is usually beginner to intermediate, and classes include Barre, Center, and Allegro (jumps).
The pas de deux class is also beginner to intermediate and consists of a short warm-up on pointe at the barre, basic poses/movements in the center, and is followed by turns/technical elements.
Classes are based on (but not limited to) the Vaganova ballet method.
School-age to adult students are welcome.
Any level of experience is welcome. However, it is recommended that you are familiar with basic ballet terminology so you can follow the class comfortably.
Private ballet lessons in English are also available. Lesson times are arranged individually upon request.
Our studio is a 2-minute walk from Shinjuku-gyoemmae Station (Marunouchi Line).

Dear friends,
Private ballet classes in English are available by me, Grigory Barinov, the former soloist of National Ballet of Japan.
Common ballet classes for teenagers and adults are also held on Friday evenings, and Sunday afternoons. They are mostly in Japanese, but English explanations will be available if you don't speak Japanese.
I graduated Riga choreography school (Latvia) in 1996, class of Y. Kapralis (former Mikhail Baryshnikov's teacher).
Worked as a dancer with Latvian National Opera, and National Ballet of Japan.
Currently work as ballet master at Komaki ballet, and teach in several studios around Japan.
I am using my own original method called EasyBallet. It is based on regular Vaganova method ballet technique with influence of body-oriented practices such as qigong, yoga, martial arts, singing etc. and explanation of exact muscles and techniques needed for certain steps. The goal, therefore, is best quality in natural way, without stiffness and excessive tension.
I offer ballet, point, pas-de-deux, repertory, preparing to competitions, and general ballet-related issues classes.
Time of private classes: decided individually
Price: 12.000 yen per 1 hour, including studio rent fee
